For something that is supposed to prove helpful for one's daily activities it can prove to be a stressful and exasperating object if you don't keep your cool.
Then again, that could be an applicable statement for most things.
I find the most troublesome moments with my pocket book to be when:
- reaching for my wallet and "personal" items fall out for all to see.
- looking for my keys and they're nowhere to be found.
- scrambling around for the phone when it's ringing.
I've solved a majority of these problems by:
- buying pocketbooks with hooks for my keys
- having an external pocket for my phone
- keeping those personal objects in zipped up compartments.
All in all, I enjoy my beautiful, cool to the touch, leather bag.
It makes me feel as if I am on a safari in Machu Picchu (which I have always wanted to explore).
Every bag needs a good throw up once in a while. A cleanse for both you and your bag.
There's something about dumping everything out of your bag that releases a certain tension.
I and my bag feel "loads" better.
The insides of my bag have gotten a little batty this week:
- Two sets of keys
- Two sets of headphones
- Two small composition notebooks (one with a panda sticker for Zoo topics)
- Three pencils and two pens
- A butterfly necklace
- Eye drops
- One organic green tea bag
- Altoids
- Cat planner
- One red kerabeaner
- One Ipod
- oh wait, another pen.
Yes, some very useful stuff, but a bitch to carry.
In most situations, it's nice to go about with just a pocket wallet, keeping the shoulders and hands free, but most people will find themselves wishing for their old friend was back in the sling of things.
Bag or no, I keep walks and evening events without a bag and when I'm at work I bring one.
That seems to keep things carefree.
So here's to each and their own...bag.
