Celebration, I tell you!!
This evening, Otto and I had our first ever public yoga class!!
It was quite magical! Just like being in a scene from Sex in the City or some other movie where they feature yoga classes.
It was an ashtanga yoga class, so very rhythmic and well paced.
Though we had done Rodney Yee on DVD (ha! that rhymes), we'd never actually been among people doing yoga.
It was really great, no competition, very organic, everyone going at their own pace-and man were there some crazy paces.
I am definitely a beginner yogi.
Yes, I have a good chunk of poses that I can do well, but there are a ton more that will prove to be quite a journey.
One challenge will be to trust my body when doing things like head stands and other poses where your legs are far past your torso.
I'm definitely steeping in a good chunk of soreness, but man does it feel great!
Afterwards we had a great dinner at China Orchid to complete the adventure.
Melissa (our instructor) told us to get plenty of water and sleep...
and that's exactly what I'm gonna do.
Good night, world & namaste.
p.s. sour bats discovery during Whole foods shopping.
coffee macaw named Sylvester at Neutral ground. He was 3o and very sweet, the owner was also nice: 3
